For me, A&L / Santander's business a/c is fine. No fees for electronic debits/credits and a limited number of cash deposits/cheques. Also at least a little bit of in-credit interest. Faster payments works well between Lloyds/HSBC for amounts up to £300 per transfer. Not sure what the problems are that OP refers to - the online banking website has been reliable for me for 4 or 5 years and does everything that you need. Also, being able to pay in cheques over the counter at the PO is very convenient (admittedly, this is a hang-over from the A&L days).0
