The length of warranty is pretty much irrelevant - the SoGA overrides any manufacturer warranty.0 -
I agree, it is fairly bold but not unhelpful post from Richard.
Aldredd's point is a worthy correction, the warranty is secondary to the legislation that gives 6 years in which a claim can be made.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

But that brings us round in a full circle it would require that engineers report which might not be worth it. Best thing the OP can do is just go into Mothercare and staying calm see if they can offer any help.0 -

Totally agree - try and get them to sort it out, but probably not worth the hassle if they won't. It just doesn't help when people unhelpfully claim that if something is out off warranty there is nothing you can do - as we all know that's not necessarily the case.
(I say 'necessarily' as there are of course companies who will offer a warranty that goes beyond the SoGA in terms of length / scope.)0 -
I had a similar problem a few years back when my daughter was a baby, but with a lesser priced monitor.
Mine was a Philips product, and failed 14 months or so after purchase. I had no joy taking it back to the supermarket we purchased it from, trying the 'should last a reasonable length of time argument' but got nowhere. However, I then contacted the manufacturer directly and they replaced it FOC and also covered postage costs.
Try contacting the manufacturer.0
