When you set up your router first time, you have to use the ethernet cable, right, does this mean that every new computer you have to do this, or is it just to set the router up?..........I dont want to "Muck up" my settings, thanks.

If your router is already set up and working, then each new computer just needs your wireless security key entering.
There is no need to modify the router settings each time.0
