Help Required in setting aside CCJs

Hello,

I have the following 2 CCJs recorder on my credit file:
1)
Court Date: **/**/2007
Case Number: NORTHAMPTON CCBC / ********

2)
Court Date: **/**/2007
Case Number: NORTHAMPTON CCBC / ********

I was not even in the country when I received the above CCJs and any correspondence from the court.

I simply ignored the above CCJs until now as I want to get a mortgage and finding it difficult to do so. I am very sure that both the above CCJs are recorded against my name wrongly and I was victim of credit fraud.

Can anyone please help how I can go about setting the above CCJs aside? More than happy to hire a CCJ lawyer if anyone can recommend one as well.

Many thanks
Hammad

  • Thanks for the replies. I dont know the actual debts but the my credit file shows that both the CCJs were about £350 each.

What should be my first step in getting these removed?

did you pay your water rates?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Hammadsalin, find out what the debts are and follow fat belly advice.

The below website can tell you what the ccj is for, then apply for your set aside.

    http://www.trustonline.org.uk/search-yourself

It may be worth adding a Notice of correction to your file once you can definitely confirm you have been a victim of fraud, and take it from there.
  • The water or any other utility bill was not on my name.

Find out what the debts are for first.

Speak to the courts in the morning or try the above website but be aware there is a fee involved. Take it one step at a time.

From the sounds of it were you shared accommodation or renting?

I think trustonline only shows the same info as the credit report.

Best to phone the court and ask for the details.

i think we are feeding the same advice he is getting from the CAG forums
  • Hello ..

Thanks for all the advice. Yes I was in shared rented accommodation. I was studying in a Uni back then.

I have done the search on TrustOnline and it came up with exactly the same info as my credit report. The court name is coming up as Northampton CCBC. I have done some net search and have found an email address. I have emailed them asking for the copy of the Judgements.

Lets see if I get a reply. Will keep you guys posted.

    Thanks again
