Travelodge website problem, where do I stand?

Hello
I thought this forum would probably give a better answer than the student room forum... so first post here.
I booked a room on Travelodge's website last night and when I went through it clicked 'Twin' and never thought anything else of it.
However, no confirmation email has come and I've found Travelodge have an old and new website, my details appear on 1 (the old one), but not the other 1 as I found out when I tried finding my info on the new one, got an error message, then finally found out I'd done it on the old website.
To make matters ridiculous, it has gone through as a double room
. I absolutely definitely booked 'Twin' as its a room for me and a mate after a pub crawl, yet I can't find anywhere to amend it.
Shall I ring up the hotel itself (Liverpool Aigburth Travelodge) and ask for an amendment and hope they waive the £5 fee?
Cheers
Tom

Wont you get the double with the sofa bed as well so each of you can have one?0

No the double is just a double. It's the family room with the sofa in it. I've had trouble with this before and travelodge are difficult to deal with. I booked a family room but only booked one adult so phoned up asking them to make the second bed up as well. They tried to charge me a fiver. I refused and when I checked in sorted it out with reception (at the Liverpool one as well). I think as you want a different room type you may have to pay the fiverThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Just read your post again. Is your room a double or family? Family you will be fine and can sort it out on checkin, double you will have to change and pay the fiverThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I'd try to make the best of it and enjoy our stay.....?0

...we still smile from the memory!0

Is it you and a same sex or opposite sex friend? If the same, Id just share the bed normally, no big deal. If its an opposite sex youd need to talk about how you feel and maybe top and tail the bed. Ask staff for extra bedding if you feel more comfortable wrapping yourself up. Ive shared in all these situations, including sharing with my friends husband!0

I would just do what you suggest and ring them direct, I don't know when you've booked for but even for tonight they have both twin and family rooms available so unless you've picked a very busy date I don't see why they wouldn't be able to amend the booking. Hopefully they will waive the fee but if they don't it's less than the price of a pint each for you and your mate.
By the way, what is the old website, I always get www2.travelodge.co.uk when I use them?0 -
As you're a student, why not get blind drunk. Then you won't careOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Is this the one not far from the train station? If yes then you get a good hangover breakfast at Me Mams Kitchen down the road.
(We stayed there for my brothers stag weekend a few years ago).0 -
If you cant amend the booking, try when you get there, if you dont want to share the bed, ask them for a couple of duvets, sleep on a folded one on the floor.
I have to say, Ive normally been able to change rooms when Ive arrived, and have never had any trouble with Travelodge Wesite.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
