DVD Player

A brand new DVD player that I've been given will not play my DVDs!
It is a Region 2 DVD player but it will not play Region 2 DVDs. The only DVD I can get it to play is one that is Any Region.
Any suggestions on what I can do to rectify this will be greatly appreciated.

Depending on the make and model, you might be able to find a code that will allow you to view discs from all regions. Typically this works more for the cheaper models than the named brands (Sony et al).

Do a google search using the make, model and the words multiregion hack.

e.g. Cyberhome 400 multiregion hack

Most likely the region has been input wrong what you can do is attempt to unlock it to multi region or return it back to whoever gave it you to get you a replacement dvd player that works.

Thanks for your replies.
I found a multiregion hack which I thought I'd successfully installed but now it won't even play the 'Any' region DVD!
Giving up for now and off to bed - I've just wasted nearly 2 hours on it and seem to have messed up all the settings!
Is there any way to restore it back to the factory settings or anything similar?
