We didn't get there    it was pouring down when we set off, so we left in plenty of time but the weather was awful, traffic wasn't really going anywhere and one of the main roads was closed
after being stuck for about an hour - and still no closer to the theatre and not enough time to get there at all, we decided to turn back
so we didn't go, DH didn't get to use his christmas present either, so a disappointing evening all round
when we got home, DH watched the football and I ate chocolate
Hoping for one last NSD today, but we shall see. Thank goodness it's Friday!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Evening SF - Just been reading your homepage..I am very impressed...I love cooking - but all I seem to want to make are sweet things..lol. Which defeats the object when I am trying to lose weight..:rotfl::rotfl: Will just watch your masterpeices as they appear..love the cake very good...Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Hi Slowly, read the whole thing (got interrupted by pesky DH last time
) It's not boring at all, been practicing my baking while off work too so loving the cake pics
I find when I bake (especially bread) I just eat twice as much though :doh:Must learn self control :rotfl:
Really felt for you on the job front, it's so hard to keep motivated to keep going to interviews but glad to hear you have secured a post nowmust be a huge weight off your mind! I felt exactly the same about letting DH down with no money coming in, it's weird isn't it as they don't mind at all and know you are trying your best! Good luck with securing your mortgage, you've done brilliantly to save such a deposit. That is our next step once we finally get debt free but a long way off yet. Will be watching your progress (does that sound creepy?!)

Hya SF :hello:
Sorry, not been on here for ages...busy busy busy.
It's a shame you didn't get to the theatre, baah to the weather! Better to be safe and at home than stuck in flooding though
You have done so well with your saving, I am so impressed, well done :T:T:T
I have fallen off the NSD wagon for a couple of months, need to get back on and start saving again. DS2 has done well enough in his BTEC to get to University...and his halls digs are £107 a week...self-catering!!!:eek: So lots of extra work needed and some serious saving required. DS1 is still at Uni too...he has one year left of his Masters, and he is already looking at possible PhD places around the world. The deal is we pay for all the accommodation, then the boys have to survive on their student loan. This has worked pretty well with DS1, though he does make the odd rediculous spend on cycling stuff (eg £100+ bike saddle ). It comes out of his money, so it's been up to him to balance his books.
So this next year is going to be decidedly tight financially, need to get sorted now to cope. At least DH and I will have a much cheaper food bill...two sporty 6'2" boys eat sooooo much!!!
Right, off to make the week's bread and wash out the material I hand-dyed earlier in the week. If the weather dries up, I will get some gardening done later...though there is still plenty to do in the greenhouse.
Have a great weekend everyone.
(((((Hugs))))) to everyone ...just 'cos I want to give some!!

yeah, much better than being stuck in floods, but frustrating at the same time  and  at the cost of living at uni! I think mine was around £98 a week, so to top the £100 mark seems such a jump
it does teach you how to budget - the hard way if you run out of money before the next loan payment :rotfl:
