Evening all
The New Year is here so doing a bit of cleaning up of finances and the like. I have been looking at fuel prices and comparisons over the last 6 months and cannot make my mind up as to the best course of action so have sat tight. I am currently with Eon on the Energy Online tarriff.
Working on last years figures (October to October) we used 3198 Kwh in Electricity and 1053 Kwh in gas. All comparison sites lead to the flexsave with Npower being the cheapest option and saving £92. If I look for a fixed plan my savings obviously diminish.
I am feeling in a bit of a quandry as to whether to jump ship, although the service reviews of NPower are a concern, or continue to sit tight for the time being. Just thought I woudl ask the helpful peeps of Mse for their opinions?

If you have gas CH and DHW, your gas consumption figure cannot possibly be correct-it should be more than 10 times that amount. If you have electric heating, your electricity figure is then much too low.
If you've sat and waited for 6 months now, then all the cheap fixes have gone, most were pulled in November. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
1053kWh in gas? That cannot be right, especially after how cold it was last year. The national average usage for gas is 16,500kWh.
Are you sure you haven't mixed this up with the figure on the gas meter which is showing an increase of 1053 on the dial? This doesn't actually correspond to 1053kWh like it does for electricity. A rotation of 1053 dial-figures on a gas metric meter is equivalent to just under 12,000 kWh.0 -
Thanks both, that would appear to be my error as I have basically just gone over the historic meter readings on my online account with Eon.
What a minefield the whole gas & electicity figures are!! Back to the comaprison sites I go....:beer:0 -
Convert your meter usage to kWH using the correct factor for metric or imperial meter. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
