HI
I wonder if anyone can advise. I have a TV DVD combo, which started being erratic, it would not always read a DVD, it would try but then say no disk, but other times it would work. Now it wont read DVDs at all, saying no disk when there is one in. I wondered rather than buying a new TV (as there is nothing wrong with the TV) can I attach a new DVD player (external DVD Player) to the DVD?
I have a new DVD player which I was going to use in another room but I noticed that at the back of the DVD playre there is a HDMI out socket and the DVD TV combo has a HDMI socket. So was wondering if I get a HDMI cable (it didnt come with DVD playre) and put if from the DVD player to the TV/DVD combo do you think this would work and over ride the internal DVD player?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

The signs are good, wouldn't you agree? Does the telly have an AV channel or something similar? Borrow a cable to try, or buy one from your local pound shop (you don't need to spend £££ on an HDMI cable) and make a mental note that DVD technology hasn't reached (and probably never will reach) the levels of robustness which made VCR combos such a nice wee space saver.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
It might help if you detailed every plug and socket on both units, or supplied make and model..... for starters, does the TV have any socketry other than the HDMI?0
