Well it seems for definite that in Sainsbury's stores in East London at least, regardless of if its a new store or not, there is now some sort of setting on the tills that you cannot use two of the same couponstar coupon in the same transaction regardless of T&C on the coupon  Other coupons I have had two of (or more of if PDFs) have been absolutely fine, so maybe couponstar struck up some type of a deal with Mr S. Consequently I couldn't use one of my blue dragon coupons, one of the ariel stain remover and one of the lenor ones the SA only realised once she had totalled everything up and tried to do the coupons at the end and she said 'oh yes these ones they have set it so you can only use one per transaction'-I could have asked the SA to faff about, void those items and do them in a seperate transaction but since she is such a nice SA (she said she uses coupons herself and I always go to her when I have a few coupons) and it was a busy Saturday I thought never mind, you win some you lose some in the game of couponing eh? Still got the items if you apply the discount from the one coupon to both of each item I got, considerably cheaper than they are anywhere else, so hey ho. The only other things I was a bit miffed about were, they only had one bottle of 650ml fairy in the entire shop and they only sell the large H&S shampoos not the conditioners so couldn't use my £1 off if you buy the itchy scalp one together. On the bright side I also got my free 1% milk from waitrose, seems people were claiming them fast because there were only 3 left when I got there xx
  • Hi MT thanks for that, will have a read x:)
  • i have read that people print off multiple coupons but whenever i try, even with for example my husbands facebook page it says that i have already printed off a coupon.
Does it only allow 1 per computer? how are people getting around this? or are what they doing wrong and frowned on?

It really depends which coupons they are. A few of the couponstar/safe coupons do have a print limit of one, but most will allow two unique prints of that specific coupon from the same computer, occasionally three-and if there is a slight variant coupon out there or one that you print from a different site you can sometimes get 4-6. It is completely legitimate to print as many copies of the couponstar coupons as you can by pressing back on your browser and pressing print again, as this will ensure all the coupons you get have different customer ID barcodes in the top right hand corner. If there is a company that only want you to be allowed to print one couponstar coupon, then this will be set up between them and couponstar-you really cannot trick the couponstar software. Their installer actually writes something into the innards of your PC so even if you completely reformat it, you still will not be able to print new copies of a coupon where you have reached the 'print limit'.

The exception to this is when occasionally when printing a couponstar or similar coupon, a grey 'print dialogue' box will pop up just like when you go to print a document on any programme-it is wrong and classed as fraud to change the number of copies in the dialogue box as you will get multiple print outs of identical coupons. This is what is not allowed and it is fraud that is liable to be detected. There are a couple of other personalised coupon companies out there, such as coupon2shop and the one who makes a lot of the facebook coupons-more often than not these will only allow printing of one copy of a coupon per computer. Occasionally there are other restrictions such as one per facebook account or one per email address.

There is another type of coupon that is a PDF or image file; these are not restricted in any way and you can usually print out as many of these as you like, with PDF coupons though you are not meant to alter them in any way. Anything that is not allowed in the world of couponing is not allowed to be spoken of on this thread and gets deleted xx

actually this coupon for cathedral city can be got legit
by writing a compliment letter to them

    as KV said
some of the free product vouchers came through post by contacting the companys.

and as many of those 'free' items can't be got with coupons from this thread at the moment i'd say KV has been busy emailing/letter writing

No noo, i got 2 free vouchers from cathedral company for complimenting them.

I used to hate it when people huffed behind me (my mum has a weird name for them... Jabba's ??? no idea why ) .... but now i love it because i turn to them after they see how much ive saved...when ive done my sums right its normally 40- 50% saving on my total bill and now i just smile smugly and say... its such a pity you seem in a rush as i have at least 10 coupons for all your shopping on there which i'd have let you have..... then i walk off head held high...

    Love it! :rotfl:

I don't know why I let it bother me, I have just had alot of these lately when using coupons, I think I have just had checkout people being extra careful with the coupons and checking they are in date etc, which I know they are, but I suppose they have to check, but it really does hold the queue up. The woman behind me really got on my nerves today, she made it quite clear she wasn't happy cause I was holding her up. I always come away happy with what I've saved, but the huffy people behind don't make it an easy ride. :(

Just ignore them and give them a proud look, they should be ashamed that they dont use coupons...
