Eco 7 clock wrong

True enough, can all depend on the type of meter you have at home. If you have a dial meter, you probably won't be able to change. If you have an electronic meter like the OP, then you should be able to request that it be reprogrammed to a single rate tariff - this would still require an engineer visit most of the time, so would likely incur a cost though.
No it is not the meter that determines how the account is handled. You don't need an electronic meter with all companies - or re-program an electronic meter.
I have the older type E7 meter and with both both Eon and BG I was on a single rate tariff. They simply added the consumption from both displays and treated it as a single figure e.g. 1,000kWh on off-peak and 3,000kWh on daytime(peak) rate was treated as 4,000kWh.
In fact from the OP's initial post it appears that is what was happened on her account with Eon, but EDF cannot cater for that procedure.
My understanding is that some companies' accounting software cannot cope with adding two readings.0 -
Those that can [ avoid a meter change ] simply switch the user to a 3-phase meter account, but as Cardew says some accounting systems did not have it built into their software flexibility design.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. You really wouldn't think it would be that much bother to just work out what I have used from the two readings!! Bloody EDF! They say they won't charge for the meter change! Still angry as I never asked to go on Eco 7 I applied and thought I was on the standard prices until I got my first bill 6 months later!0
