Had a nice day yesterday in town.
A girl in my office is leaving at the end of this week and I was in charge of collecting the present money and then buying the present and card. I wasn't too sure what to buy, so another girl from work offered to come with me to get the present.
We managed to get some lovely things for £50 altogether and that included cake and 2 bottles of fizz from M&S. :T Also had a nice time chatting with her as she is the one who is getting married later this year.
Am meant to be meeting friends on Monday after work for lunch - one of them being the friend who had a baby nearly two months ago and I haven't seen or really heard from her since. I haven't even seen the baby as she's so bad at replying to texts etc. Nearly died of shock when she suggested meeting for lunch.:rotfl: Managed to get a cute little outfit for the baby for £5, so very chuffed with that.Just need a bit of wrapping paper, so will head to the Card Factory for that. Love that shop as it's so cheap but the cards are still decent.
Did 25 mins of exercise this morning and really struggled with it.I've gotten even more unfit since stopping the exercise a few months ago. Did 15 mins of Blast Off Belly Fat (15 mins as I got halfway through one of the workouts and was nearly crying with the pain and couldn't do it anymore
). Then did 10 mins of yoga - have really been missing this as it's very good for my back and sore shoulder.
Luckily I only seem to have put on 1lb since I weighed myself last month so 6lbs of the weight I lost last year has stayed off. :j Am really going to try and do 30 mins of exercise at least 3 times a week and keep up with it. I'm terrible for getting bored and just giving up on things.
Update on our dodgy window is that the insurance company are sending out a structural engineer to inspect it as they are worried that it's being caused by subsidence. So got that to look forward to next week - if it's not subsidence then hopefully they'll be able to at least tell us what the problem is and how to fix it. *sigh*Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Have been too tired to post recently - work just exhausts me, especially early shifts. Also have a terrible cold and feel really rotten, am meant to be going out tonight for dinner & drinks - think I might just manage dinner and one or two drinks if I'm lucky, then home to my bed.
Have the structural engineer coming out today as well, not really something I'm looking forward to, especially with a bad sinus headache and being all stuffed up.
Managed to meet my friends for lunch on Monday - the baby is very tiny and lovely, he was also well behaved too which was a bonus.Crying babies are scary and hurt my head.:rotfl:
Needless to say I haven't done any exercise what with work exhaustion and now the killer cold. Need to get my backside in gear.
Total debt is now under £7000. :j DMP will be gone in 5 months and only NR loan left to get rid of. :j
Wedding fund is looking okay at the moment - should have about £400 left once we have paid the venue hire off the cc. Have only got about £40 of OH's new printer to pay off as well and will get a bit more than that when he sells the old ones. :T Doing an overtime shift next week and will put the extra towards the wedding fund as well.
It's OH's birthday next week and have no idea what to get him. Have ordered one thing he asked for but that's it. Have managed to get a day off work for his birthday so will make a nice dinner or something.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hi psycho, thanks.
Really struggling to speak properly now, not good. Structural engineer was just here (which is how I discovered I can barely talk!) - doesn't seem to think it's subsidence but to do with timber frames shrinking as the timber dries out and everything moves down, except for our windows apparently. Doubt it will be covered by the insurance so that's an absolute PITA that we really don't need.
Plus our factors are being pains again. Really can't wait to get out of this place. Unfortunately we won't be able to move for a few years yet as can't afford it and will probably need a decent deposit for a house.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Well I did manage to get out on Friday night and had a good time.
Paid for it the next day though as my cold was worse and just felt rotten and slept most of the day. Feeling a bit better now, which is just as well since I'm working an overtime shift later - at least I can (mostly) speak now. Oh well, extra money towards the wedding fund and I've got another three days off after this as well. :T
Need to sort out some presents for OH's birthday later in the week as well as a nice dinner and cake as got time off work for it.
Have managed to get quite a lot of housework done, so that's one less thing to worry about.
Have been looking into booking a humanist wedding celebrant as thinking of having a humanist ceremony instead of a registrar at our venue. Not sure if it's too soon to start making enquiries about booking/meeting celebrants when the wedding isn't for 18 months.Have asked OH to have a look at the celebrant profiles and see who he thinks we should meet anyway.

Overtime shift was fine and now off for three days. :j Just going to relax today, then a bit of present shopping for OH tomorrow.
Thinking of getting some Lily Lolo concealer as I'm quite pleased with the foundation but not sure what shade to get - don't want it to be too pale or too dark.
My cold is still hovering about and I'm still sounding quite croaky which isn't great.
No real money news at the moment, waiting for payout from a few survey sites but that's about it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Had a busy day yesterday as went out shopping with my mum for OH's birthday. Managed to get a couple of things and we also smuggled a couple of wedding magazines in there as well.
We had a good look through them before buying - just need a few ideas.
My mum and aunts were out shopping the other day and talking about the wedding. I now have at least one of them wanting to come dress shopping with us - I will have an entourage. :rotfl:
Then had to go food shopping once I got home as we were running out of cat meat, milk etc. Will need to run out today for a couple of things I need to make OH his lunch, dinner and cupcakes for his birthday.
Managed to get to payout from another survey company so should have approx £30 coming to my Paypal account soon. :j Will be going into the wedding fund.
Also ordered some concealer, which arrived yesterday - fast delivery as ever. Looks like the right shade but will try it out today and see.
Suppose I should get moving since OH is meant to be home about lunchtime and I have nothing organised. Need to go out for food things I need, then come back and make the cupcakes and lunch. Organised as ever.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Still suffering from this bad cold and just feel exhausted, though feeling better than last week. Back to work now for five late shifts before two off.
Made OH tiramisu cupcakes for his birthday - he was quite pleased with them.He also liked the clothes I'd picked for him which was an achievement as he's quite fussy with his clothes. :T We had chicken stuffed with garlic herb roulade and wrapped in parma ham with mashed potatoes for dinner as well so OH was a happy bunny.
Made a dentist appointment for a check up at the end of the month as got our reminder letter through. Not too worried as the most I tend to get is a scale and polish.
Have done a big pile of ironing today and a bit of tidying. Wish I didn't have to go to work as just want to sleep now, damn cold.
Still waiting to hear the final verdict from our insurers about the dodgy window but are pretty sure we'll have to pay for it ourselves. Just hope it's not too expensive.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Nothing much to report, nasty foggy day outside. Only two more late shifts then two days off. :j
Have just been working away and feeling knackered. Need to have a look at money as we are still spending too much on food. We need to save towards the wedding and are also going to need money to sort out the dodgy window (probably sooner than later). Get paid in just under two weeks which is good. :jSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Now off work for two days so planning on getting some rest. Have managed to do a good amount of cleaning & tidying this morning and have stuck a washing on as well.
Might go out later with OH to help him buy some clothes with his birthday money. Think he is going to make his homemade lasagne for dinner. :j
Have been browsing wedding magazines and generally just thinking. Don't really need to do much at the moment with the planning except save money and think about what we would like. Think most of it can only be done nearer the time which will be fairly stressful.
Have been saving 10ps in a tin for the last year so will need to get them out, counted, bagged & taken to the bank. Will put that money into the wedding fund as well.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780.
