Thanks gilli, had a good time at the party and wasn't too late home. Think I was more drunk than I realised though, as lay down on the couch talking to OH and fell asleep. Didn't get to bed until 1:30 am when OH woke up and realised I was still sleeping on the couch. :o Had quite a long lie in this morning as feeling a bit rough. :o

Looking at wedding costs again with OH today and trying to figure out the best way to spend our money and not go over board. Having a bit of a dilemma in that when making up our preliminary guest list for the ceremony/day part - if we include children it whacks it up by 11.

We're leaning towards only having our nephews & nieces there and possibly one or two older children of friends. Don't really fancy having four under-2's there and quite a few under-5's as well that I don't even know that well. It's a bit difficult to think how to word it though - "Come to our wedding but leave the kids at home" ??:rotfl: Some people might not be very happy about it.

Well, had a fairly chilled out day today - weather miserable again. :(

Did our recycling & then did some food shopping and were duly horrified by the amount we spent. There's only the two of us & three cats! No more food shopping until payday in two weeks now, really do need to be more careful and start meal planning again. Can be difficult when I'm working shifts but should really still be able to do it.

Need some things like a new mattress protector and bedding but will have to save up vouchers from survey sites. We've decided to cancel Sky, so the money saved from that will go to the wedding fund. Will also put the council tax money from the two "free" months towards it.

Hoping to book our venue this week - will be able to pay two thirds of the total off the cc straight away and the council tax money should pay the rest. :j After that just need to save as much as possible for everything else. Quite excited as well as a bit scared. :D

Don't think I'll be up to much today - I'm sure there is plenty I should be doing but really can't be bothered with.

Have had a cup of tea, read a bit in bed and have stuck a washing on so far. Oh and fed the cats because they were meowing their furry heads off as soon as OH got up for work.

Managed to get £20 Amazon vouchers from one of my survey panels so used some of this for a new mattress protector and new toothbrush heads - the excitement. Already had a gift voucher balance in the account, so we still have £15 vouchers left. :j

OH has ordered a new multi-function printer as he's determined we'll use it to print our wedding invitations etc. He's going to sell the printers he already has (yes, plural) to fund the new one, plus the manufacturer is offering £60 cashback as well. Apparently the ink is more economical for the new printer. After checking that he could pay for it I just let him get on with it - at least it means he's interested in the wedding. :p

No real news atm, just plodding along. Paid £10 off the cc yesterday so the washing machine balance is at £20 which will be paid off on our next payday (10 days). :j

Hoping to get the wedding venue booked and paid for in the next few days. I know I still have a problem with wanting to spend money as am feeling a bit antsy knowing I have over £400 sitting there. It has been allocated to something very important to me but I still worry that I'll spend it because it's there. I won't though. *determined face* :rotfl:

Have been trying to cure my spendy-itis by using gift vouchers which has helped a bit. Still not seen any cushions I would like for my couch - they have to be big, comfortable and most importantly washable for when the cats chuck up on them. Dirty little toerags obviously just get comfy and decide to hairball all over the place. They have ruined three cushions in as many months.

Checked with OH about the dodgy window - apparently we have to organise several estimates for repair/new windows from different companies and then send it to the building factors, who then submit it to the buildings insurance as a claim. What a palava - it had better be covered as there's no way this should be happening after a few years in a new building.

Back to work for seven days today - not looking forward to it, always a hard slog, especially towards the end.

Had my order from Debenhams arrive today - the cardigan fits nicely. :j Also ordered some underwear which arrived and am quite tempted to buy more in a (few) different colours. Have resisted so far. :o

Went to Morrison's yesterday as FF had posted on her diary about their tuna offer. So off I scampered as £2.99 for four tins is a LOT better than £6.99. So got two lots to keep us going for quite some time. :T Behaved whilst there and only bought milk and potatoes as that was all we needed. :A

The new printer arrived yesterday so OH has set it all up. He's going to get the other printers sorted out so he can sell them asap. He has also put in the manufacturer cashback claim so that can be paid off as soon as we get the money back. :T

Also need to [STRIKE]nag[/STRIKE] remind him to fill in his health claim form for the sports massage for his back as he now has a policy through his work. This is something he gets in conjunction with his chiropratic appointments due to being so tall and getting a lot of back pain. Luckily the health policy covers most of it but we have to claim it back.

Feeling tired today but work wasn't too bad last night - hopefully will have a calm week for once.

Got a cheque through from Globaltestmarket so that can be banked today or tomorrow on the way to work and be added to the wedding fund. :j Am also only £3 off payout from newvista so that will be another £50, hopefully shortly. :j

Still waiting to hear back from our venue to book it and must say they're not filling us with confidence at the moment. The owner got back to us very quickly but asked us to speak to the manager. He hasn't replied to our emails so far - sent at the beginning of the week. OH can't take phonecalls in his new job and I can't when I'm at work so email works best for us. A bit annoyed just now really as want to get a date sorted. :( Am I just being impatient? :o

Gave in and ordered the underwear from Debenhams - but only two colours. Thought it would save money in the long run as the sizing fits a lot better than the bras I have atm - tried a cup size up as things weren't being held in place properly iyswim. :o Every shop seems to be different size wise so really just trial and error for me.

No real updates atm - still not heard back from potential wedding venue. Now wondering if we should look elsewhere but would really prefer this place. :( Just want to get it booked and sorted so we have a date to work towards and can book other things as well.

Also having trouble with companies not getting back to us about coming out to look at the dodgy window. We can't progress until we have a few written estimates for repair/replacement. OH isn't hopeful that the insurance will pay out either so something else to worry about. :( Honestly don't know how we will pay for a new window if the insurance refuses to cover it.

Going to post OH's health claim form off today and need to bank my cheque as well. Payday is a week today thankfully. :T

Feeling tired and annoyed today - am sure no one could tell from my happy post. :rotfl:

Loving Joe Browns just checked out that website! Not good when I'm trying to clear debt sashybo, i like the checked shirts!

I also REALLY liked the mineral foundation. I actually need some so might need to try that next month, and you get a wee brush with the set! x

Not long back from work - just having a cup of tea and a browse about here.

:rotfl: Sorry BW - I'm passing on my own spendiness. :o I'm really quite impressed with the Lily Lolo stuff - I got the Baby Buki brush and think it's pretty good - not tried a bigger one though.

I like some of the Joe Brown's stuff but some of it can be a bit out there. I usually wait until the sales if there is anything I particularly want, so kind of MSE. :A

We've finally heard back from the wedding venue person - apparently he was still off last week, so a bit of miscommunication there. Hoping to book tomorrow so that we have a date set.:D

And we're booked - wedding will be in June next year. :j:j And the venue hire was slightly cheaper than expected. :j We have the money to pay it off the cc straight away, so just have to save up for everything else now.

No other real news but looking forward to my days off - only two more shifts to go.
