Chips. cheese and salad cream - real comfort food
  • Just had HUGE plateful salad, 1/2 micro jacket pot from yesterday, 1 inch chopped cel, few chopped lettuce leaves, last of the red onions, 1 inch old pointy red pepper, breadcrumbs (h/m bread) 3 baby toms,1/3 of left over duck, and I went a leetle overboard on the low fat salad cream, tasty but a leeeeetle too much so made me smack my lips a bit. Really good and fairly healthy. Have not gone out so will not be tempted to buy anything else. I do do a shopping list and usually remember to take it with me and the arthritis makes it a bit difficult to check lower cupboards - sorry.
Many thanks for your help. Just a though, anyone heard of Butterlump loaf, if so, have you the recipe ?/

    Hot potato salad is nice.
Peel potatoes and dice boil for 5-7 mins till cooked.
Drain add chopped onions, salt, pepper and salad cream.
Delish and makes a change from the usual winter potato dishes.

Similar to Angela's suggestion, I know, but I boil potatoes and onions together, then drain off and mash + add salt & pepper.

Once cold, I stir in loads of salad cream, put mixture into a large dish and then chill it off in the 'fridge.

This is great for serving with cold meats, salads, or even as a 'side' with sandwiches ... although I always give in to temptation and keep helping myself to a couple spoonfuls every now & then.

    Delicious!
