Puttng brick rubble into concrete mix

Hi

I have a wall that needs taking down. I need to make some concrete foundations for fence posts. Could I put the rubble in the concrete to make it stronger?

Thanks

When I built my house in 1977, I had to first demolish the old wooden bungalow that was on the site. The footings, such as they were, were made entirely of brick based concrete.
However, if you are proposing to mix the rubble into fresh concrete you will have to break it up a bit., and you won't need much to set a post in the ground. It will be far easier to use rapid setting post-mix. You just drop it in the hole and pour some water onto it.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Don't use ordinary concrete for fence posts. Takes too long to cure. Use postfix as it sets off in 10 - 15 minutes. Fence finished in no time.

Edit: Oops - 27 beat me to it. :p

    Cheers

  • Thanks for the relies.

I should have said that the posts will be treated outdoor wood and have a corrugated roof- for a veranda type thing. Should I use normal concrete or the quick stuff? There will be more load.
