Can anyone recommend a decent digital camera?

I lost my camera on boxing day and am lost without it.

Can anyone recommend a decent digital camera to replace it? I am ideally looking for one in the sales or a good price, can spend between £100 and £200 which is my xmas money. (I did see a great offer on a Nikon Coolpix SLR camera in Argos but this deal has finished and I cant find any others which match up to this ). (does not have to be an SLR camera, just a decent one)

Any help much appreciated as I have trawled the internet and just got confused with all the information out there

I like Canon Cameras.

There's this one, but (1) I haven't used it so you should check detailed reviews online. And (2) to get the camera for £129.something you have to apply for cashback, and I don't know how reliable these cashback schemes are. I've certainly heard of people having trouble with cashback applications being delayed or unreasonably refused, and you might have to be VERY careful to jump through all the hoops.

But, if I was trying to buy a camera and had only £130 to spend, I'd consider this. Only 720p HD video though.
