They say, and apparently marketing statistics regularly confirm, that a happy customer will recommend friends and colleagues to a company from which they have or are receiving good service. It is much less expensive to keep a customer than have to recruite a new one.
On the other hand, a company which fails or upsets its customers will receive nearly 10 x more bad publicity than a satisfied one. I know this for a fact.
They may have only pi**ed me off once, but boy, 10's of thousands have read about it.
