Flea Problem

Perhaps your cat actually has a flea bite allergy? (One of mine does) If so, she might need additional vet help (a steroid, for example) if you leave it a little too late for reapplication.
What I did recently, before I switched, because the Frontline hadn't worked, was use the flea tablets twice for them to get some relief whilst waiting for it to be safe to apply Advantage. Now that made them scratch and twitch like I'd wired them up to the mains supply, as the fleas died so quickly.
I'd also be extra extra careful with cleaning, as the odds are she's being got by new fleas hatching during the month.
Other than that, it's off to the vet anyway, as there's another one that is prescription only. Hopefully by the time Advantage stops working and that goes OTC, there will be new ones available.
I may just stock up on those - cheaper than vets & am not overkeen on steroids.0 -

Go through quidco for cashback, check for discount codes, you get another discount for being a new customer.
You need the smaller 11.4mg tablets for cats.
But I think it might be cheaper now to just go with Johnson's 4fleas, as that's the same active ingredient (11.4mg Nitenpyram).
They're available from any high street petshop for about a fiver.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
i use advantage for my cats, it works differently from the frontline and fiproline, its absorbed into the skin rather than blood stream, (if your cat/dog is sensitive and suffers with skin problems seek advice from your vet) and gives head to toes protection, it only effective for 4-6 weeks, but the advantage of it is that is proven to kill fleas and eggs in their baskets and if other pets sleep with them help kill those off aswell.
i treat my ragdoll and other two cats with it, its affective almost imeadiatly i saw two fleas fall out and curl up and die (whoo hoo) as i applied it. i havent seen flea dirt or eggs in either cats at all i highly recommend advantage. it may take longer in some pets to become active but in my opinion knocks socks off frontline and is more cheaper product, there also a promotional pack out 6 ampules for the price of 4 usually about £15.99.
i also recommend that you treat the house the day of treating the animals, flea bombs dont work nor does the powdered treatment you really do need a insecticide treatment for the home and ensre you get in all nooks and crannies such a skirting boards under wardrobes etc, if treating a sofa (do a test on the back for marking or bleaching first then treat the house and go back and see the results if it hasnt marked it treat it)
when fleas are dying from poisen they tend to bite the host vigorously to survive with the advantage the more they bite the more they poisen themselfs. my cats scratch for about 24 hours off and on, u just aid their relief by brushing with flea brush the fleas are so slow you can click them easy and dont hop away.0
