Hi,
I took out a loan with LTSB around 7 years ago for consolidation - I can't remember exact amounts, but it was over 3 or 4 years. I remember i was paying around £150/month. However, I don't have any paperwork to hand. I know I had PPI, as it was hinted at that the application would be refused without it - but do I need the account number to claim? If so how do I get these details
I've downloaded the FOS Questionairre from LTSB's website - is this the best way to claim?
Regards,
Crunchy

Hi there
Yes you have done the right thing and do not worry about the paperwork, lots have been successful without the paperwork.
If you do not have the account number of the loan, then statements from the bank will enclose these details, or if you bank with them and bank online, this normally allows you go back to about 2002, and the account number is shown next to the loan repayment.
Or if you call into the branch, they should tell you.
Good luck on your reclaiming.

Righty, time for an update here...
Firstly,
Today I looked at my Equifax Credit Report - not as grim as I expected, if I'm honest, but thats another thread in itself
I now have dates (November 2004-November 2009), and amounts - £153/month x 60 months = £9180 total amount repaid. I'm 95% certain that this total included PPI. I work for a train operator, who pay full pay for the first 6 months off sick then a reduced amount thereafter, plus I get benefits in certain circumstances (long term sickness, disablement, death  etc) through my trade union membership (boo hiss etc :rotfl:). Would these facts be enough to prove that I didn't need it?
I have a partial account number from the credit report - I'm going to pop into LTSB on Friday (first day off since Crimbo ) to request a full a/c number (going to get a settlement figure for my LTSB CC while I'm at it - think they'll be glad to see the back of me!).
Also,
While I'm at it, I took out a loan with Citi Financial in 2006. I'd cleared everything with my TSB loan, and was quite proud of myself at the time for doing so. Guess what, I spent up on the cards again...
So I re-consolidated again, all the cards, but not the TSB loan which carried on. I'm certain I had PPI, as it was hinted at that the loan might not be accepted without it - although of course it wasn't explicitly said so. I still worked for the same company (still do although it's got a new owner now), so the same as above apply - I didn't need the insurance. This time the term was shorter - 36 months at £155/month = £5580 - although this account was settled 5 months or so early.
Again, I have a partial account number, but as Citi no longer have a branch network, can anyone tell me the best way to find out - ie who to call and what info I'd need to provide (I'm guessing one can't just phone up and ask as I could be anyone!)
Or indeed would the partial number (last 4 digits of 15 digit number) be enough to write to them with?
Both of the above accounts were settled during 2009 so are well within the thingumy period.
Thanks in advance for any help / advice

Apologies for the double-post but I may as well ask here while I think of it - does anyone have any idea what sort of figure I can expect on each of these loans based on usual PPI rates? Also can I claim for interest paid on premiums (both loans were pretty high APRs if I remember right)?
Edit: hope the above doesn't make me look greedy - even a few hundred goes a fair way towards clearing my current debt once and for all!
Thanks again,
