Check out Raba 500 in the Polish Tatras. Excellent reviews on tripadvisor and should fulfill your requirements.

MSC is also doing cruises in June from Italy at £499 per adult plus £100 per child and you can pick up flights cheaply to Venice and Genoa etc. Just been pricing up October half term with prices from £349 per person and a family of 4 could do a week from Venice for about £1400 - it is very tempting!0 -
Arenal D'en Castell in Menorca. One of the most stunning bays in the world but peaceful on a night. Ours loved it when they were little but want Magaluf etc now

If you fancy something a little bit different from the standard Mediterranean holiday, with a much lower risk of 'lager louts', have a look at Austria. Although it will be more expensive, you should be able to get a very family friendly holiday within your budget. Particularly if you book the hotel directly and sort out flights with the budget airlines.
Austria is a beautiful country, and generally overlooked as a summer holiday destination by the British . Google 'Kinder Hotels' to find a group of hotels that specifically cater for families.0 -
We stayed at Cala Bona in Mallorca in early April in a thomson's hotel called the bonaire it was lovely and exactly as you described but would imagine in peak season it would be a different matter

Went there a couple of yrs ago and it was fab. Just a note tho we visited the area again in May 2011 and there did seem to be a lot of Germans around. I am not racists just making an observation :-)Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
Have a look at the Zoraida Resort (made up of the Zoraida Gardens and Zoraida Park) in Costa Almeria, Spain. They are adding waterslides and a pirate ship for this summer and it is right on the beach with a short flight time too.
Being in Almeria, it is not a place where people go to get drunk and disorderly and is still more Spanish feeling than the other Costas.
The Zoraida gardens is coming in around £1400 for a week with Direct Holidays or £2200 for 2 weeks. Or there is 10 nights but Birmingham only for around £1920.
Highly recommend Almeria.:beer:0 -
we did a thomson holiday loads of times to cala'n blanes in minorca it the vista blanes apartments. Totally occupied by brit's and has a kids club. Onsite restaraunt and shop. Also has entertainment most evenings but we never experienced any drunks. Owner of the hotel was on site everyday and any problems were immediatley resolved, ours was there was no tin opener!!
We hired a car at the hotel for a couple of days, there is also a small water park in the next village/ small town.
