Insulation in Roof

Hi,

Is it ok (ie compliant with Building Regs) to use Rockwool Insulation under/between the ceiling joists for insulation. We then intend to board over the top.

This is in a pitched roof of a newly built single storey extension.

Got home from work and hubby has filled with Rockwool, but looking online perhaps it should be something else?

Not a problem to remove. Please advise as our Inspector/Architect is obv on new year hols at the mo!

Thanks

  • you would need to make sure that the insulation is not squahed down so youd need to build p the height of the joists to 270mm before the boarding goes on

a more practical solution would be to use the rockwool between the joists then lay full sheets of kingspan over then bard on top of those

Make sure you screw the boards down, never nail them and also mark on them in biro where you mains cables run. Saves so much grief.
