copies of my kitchen doors wanted

Hi can anybody advise me, we are thinking of altering our kitchen which would result in us wanting some more cupboards to match our existing ones. The ones we have are over 10 years old but are in great condition and are limed oak. I know you can renovate your kitchen by getting replacement doors but is there anyone that will make copies of what you have? We have quite a big kitchen so it would be costly to buy a new kitchen altogether.

I would be interested in any experiences of this, ie, are the copies any good, are they very expensive, is it not really worth bothering with.

Any help appreciated.

Copies will be very expensive. You will be better off buying all new doors.

i had a kitchen fire a yr ago and i couldnt match the other cupboard fronts and i have a huge kitchen was cheaper just to get new fronts

There is a company in Bolton- (Dancia Distribution) thay supply all the accessories for kitchens, they may give you some advice.

why not speak to a carpenter rather than a company - although they sound beautiful, you may find that they are simple to construct, and a local tradesman could do you a good deal....

we once had a cupboard matched to another the other side of a chimney breast - the job was lovely and competitively priced.

not true ......A company in Stockport matches kitchen cupboard doors.
If you take in a sample, they will do them for you.
Its cheaper to get a couple of doors made rather than replace the whole kitchen with new.

cheers TornadoTom, you say not expensive so can you tell me what you know of the prices ie any experience of ordering something from them, etc please?

You'd have to take a sample and get a quote from them...they do all sorts of different doors.
Individual prices may be a couple of ££ dearer than cheapo diy stores, but works out cheaper replacing a few doors instead of the whole kitchen.

We had laminate doors replicated...they are just bog standard kitchen doors in a antique pine colour, they came back identical to the original doors. There was nothing out of the ordinary with our order.
However, they make quaker style doors, wooden panel doors and several other styles.
You'd need to ring up and ask.
