Blu-ray player help

I have a Sharp Aquos TV, and a Sharp BD-HP25 blu-ray player. With most dvds I get black lines at the top and bottom of the movie, and the same with some blu-rays.

Is there any way that I can change the size of the picture?

If they are in 21:9 I doubt it as you would be losing bits of picture from the edge.

you want one of these

but some blu ray players have a 'zoom' option, but no idea why you would use it as you will cut off the sides of the movie, have a look in the manual.
