Ive now finished paying for the car and managed to squeeze about £32 off my monthly bills so thats an extra £200 available.
I have put it in my slush fund this month which might be a bit dangerous. Ive been feeling a bit vulnerable that I was a bit too tightly budgeted to account for the yearly bills like car insurance and repairs so the plan is to build a £1000 float for things like this a put the over and above into the MF fund.
End of next month I come off my fixed rate of 5.63% to the Nationwide BMR of 2.5% way flipping hey !!0 -
Car insurance renewal came through at £290 so I phoned Sheilas Wheels and asked if they could do any better with their quote. Response NO thats the best deal.
Went online and took out the same policy with the same provider and added additional cover for £20 less and another £10 cashback so in total £30 better off for more cover with the same provider.0 -

Have you worked out how much that will save you each month?
Great going, by the way!0 -
£182.78 saved in intrest by going on to BMR. Rather than pay it into my mortgage im putting it into the ISA which is paying 2.5 % so cost neutral. I have been feeling a bit vulnerable as my savings are a bit low.0

Shiney new iPhone 5 ordered, can't wait, love gadgets.
Not too bad a deal took lowest tarrif so had to pay higher cost for handset but the tarrifs are going up in Feb by 2.3% so I thought the lower tarrif cost the better option and flogging the iphone 4 on ebay will cover the handset cost.
Tomorrow I tackle the broadband O2 love them 6 months free so in effect Ill get my broadband for 4.75 a month I hope, Ill let you know
New Year landline lookingagain at o2 £16.50 a month for anytime calls £3 a month better than BT and they must have better customer service, it cant be any worse.
On the phone for an hour to get to a live person, had to explain 4 times that I wanted to remove the friends and family option not add it on and no I dont want to go the the anytime package because Im already on it. No I dont want to be tied in for another year. STOP STOP STOP CHANGE NOTHING. Got to leave cant take the appaling customer service any longer. Oh and you know that number they put on you bill to phone if you have a compaint, dont bother complaints isn't an option that is available and I gave up after being on hold for over 30 mins to the sales line (stupidly thought they would answer that promptly trying to lull unsuspecting new business in) ended up in a stinking bad mood so just as well nobody answered as I had lost all sense of reason.0 -
You're making great progress. Good news on the interest rate.
I find all the phone companies pretty awful on customer service now. Unless they are getting me to pay more for stuff2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
