Fridge freezer- using without drawers?

I've been offered a fridge freezer but some of the freezer drawers are missing/broken. Other than that, it's in really good condition.

Would it be safe to just place stuff on the shelves (which have the cooling elements running along the underside) or would I need to replace the drawers to use it safely?

I'd be really grateful for any comments- thanks.

On some freezers, each of the drawers have different * (star) ratings for different types of food.

You can usually buy replacement drawers from websites like 4my....

Is it a frost free freezer. If its one of those high efficacy ones with a fan then it wont have enough power to cool the compartment with out the draws.

If its a bog standard one it should be ok but I can't guarantee without checking the temp readings.

I didn't know it was possible to buy replacement bits like that, Myser, but that's brilliant because it makes it worth it- thanks!!! (Scurries off to phone friend and accept quickly....!)

If you were to go to your local tip you'd see loads of drawers where they put the fridges and freezers
A quick word with one of the guys might get you some drawers, (have some meansurements handy) depends on their rules and how fleixble they are, mine have let me have fridge shelves for keeping pests off newly planted areas of garden
