Outlook Express to Windows 7 problem

I'm hoping someone can help please? I have a new computer running windows 7. How can I access my e-mail from Outlook Express (was on Windows xp on old computer)? Tried installing windows live mail but won't connect to e-mail.
TIA.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Outlook Express is not available for W7. I personally hate Live Mail, I have switched to Thunderbird which has a similar layout to OE.

You need to make sure that your settings to get your mails have been entered into whichever program you use. Most ISPs have a help page with all the information for the appropriate programs, however if the program you opt to use is not listed, just get general settings from your ISP and carefully enter into the account at the appropriate places.

    Things you need are

    your email address
your login in name for e-mail
    password for that
    pop3 server name (incoming mail)
    smtp server name (outgoing name)

Who is your internet service provider ?

if your email has IMAP then you should use that over pop3 any day.

also it's the email provider that matters not the ISP.
