Hotpoint washing machine broken, repairable?

Options
Our Hotpoint WF250 washing machine stopped working half way through a cycle before the washing liquid was taken. Its stuck with the wash light on constant and the door lock light flashing.

I managed to get it to drain but it won't do any cycles, spin only or even the drain function it doesn't fill with water just stops with the wash light on and the lock light blinking. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and if it might be fixable either DIY or via a repairer?

could be just a door lock problem. or maybe the PCB.
    how old is the machine?
with the cost of repairs now it maybe cheaper or a better option to buy a new WM.
asda are doing one for 160 quid.

The machine came with the house but its only a few years old. We'd be looking to get a vaguely decent machine, I haven't looked around yet but I'd guessed they would be £2-300.

If I could narrow down the problem that would be good, I've changed the door seal which was mouldy, so changing the PCB would be no problem if that was the cause.

Have you looked up the flashing error code in the manual?

Has the filter (at the bottom of the machine usually) been checked?

We haven't got the manual and the one I found online didn't have any information about error codes.

There's no filter behind the removable front at the bottom, I'll have a look at the back.

It's possible that there isn't a filter. It won't be at the back as it has to be accessible on washing machines.

Have you checked your error code on the Hotpoint website:

Does the motor turn at all, it could be worn brushes.
Have you tried a run without any clothes in, just a spin will do.
