Hotel during the Olympics??

Can anyone suggest how I search for the best price for a family room in London during the Olympics? Not getting much below £150?? Just want a clean fairly central (so we can do other activities whilst in London) family room. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you in advance:)

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My thoughts are that £150 in central London during the Olympics is cheaper than I would expect. Book it now before it goes (and don't expect it to be high quality).
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

How about a Youth Hostel?, we are staying at St Pancreas and hoping to use the fast rail link to Stratford.
  • £150 seems very reasonable to me, but I don't know what you will get for that.

Depending on where you are coming from and transport options that you may have already arranged, have you considered staying further out of London and travelling in? As far as I'm aware, if you have event tickets, you will get free travel within London on the day of the event. Of course, this may not be as practical as it sounds with a family, but just thinking aloud.

I had a quick look at a premier inn at the end of the docklands line I stayed in this year.

It is selling at £199 prepayable.

All I would suggest is search using an online agent for hotels on the end of the tube lines, however I think at £150 if you are happy with the quality of the place, then I dont think you will do much better.

If it is a decent hotel and you need the room book it now. I heard in the summer of someone being charged £150 for a 'budget' hotel room near Excel a month before the event.

I am with the others...£150 book it!

Cant see anything being cheaper than that in london during the event and why would it be..its a chance to capitalise.

If you do find anything cheaper be sure to post it though..thanks

Check it out on Trip Advisor first , could be a nightmare or could be a decent offer !
Personally i would stay at the extremes of the Underground links and travel in as parking is going to be a nightmare , NCP are doubling the rates , minimum !
