I don't know why, but I've found a renewed vigour for scrimping. After yesterday's cancellation of £80 worth of standing orders/DDs, I decided to scrape together every penny/pound/note I could find around the flat and in my pockets. I've managed to find over £50  And, while tidying up, I found an M&S gift card which has over £25 on it which I'd all but forgotten about. Posh food, here I come!
I reckon I might even be able to make it to payday (three weeks away) without spending ANYTHING from my bank account with the exception of bills. Car is full of fuel (no long journeys planned), cupboards are stocked with cupboard essentials, I'm fairly well stocked with toiletries... March could turn into a very frugal month! :T
It's a good job, because I'm skint after a very expensive February... :rotfl:
Well done Pedro. I have been paid for March (a week ago) and I'm skint already!!:eek::eek: I might have to invade the savings jar!

Well I might be joining you soon Ruby. Checked my b/a this morning and new work are paying me £1400
I hadn't spent as much as I thought I had and so still had £1100 left in there before the O/D as well, that was a weird feeling. However, I have spent £250 on the c/c, but £160 of that will be paid off when my expenses come through and as I pay in full each month I'm not incurring interest, so it helps my credit rating.
Anyway, I'm going to pay off Lloyds O/D in a second and shall report back with a new grand totalI'm not counting spends on the c/c as that's my spending money budget for food, clothes, everything and as long as I only use that, then I have a set budget of £500 a month for all the bits that don't get paid by d/d.

Right then, here's a BIG update and I have no idea how I'm managing it but I apparently have cleared all but one debt (although hope to clear that next month bringing my DFD by an entire 8 months).
When I first started thinking of clearing my debts my target was going to be July, I even told my Dad I'd be debt free by July. If I can clear it by end of March I'll be so happy as that will mean I can definitely save the same amount I've paid off by the end of the year £5030 will be my savings target.
Anyway enough yabbering...

Payday Friday....another leap towards freedom. Doing alot of growing up along with paying off this debt. Drinking less and more sensible when i am, not spending so much on "sweets" and "sh***" basicly. There is many changes happening in my life as a result of this challenge - not just financial changes but all of them are for the better.
One day i will hear of someone being in debt and get a flashback to this working to pay the bank times i am in currently. It is the start of me being self employed, going solo and getting my name about as i know its not just about the money. Reputation comes first then i can start commanding decent quotes for my work.
Looking to increase workload upto 80 hour weeks, 3 on then 1 "off" where i will decrease it down to 60ish. Obviously this is if i can get the work required for it.
300 days and 4 hours to go. So everyone take your figure left to pay and divide it by 300, that will show you the amount you have to pay at very minimum.
Alot of you guys are doing so well, the end is near for us all.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
