Oh forgot to add that I couldn't stand being sooooo close to £5000 so I've upped my payments leaving me a little skint for Feb but who cares! So my total now reads (and is included in the January figure):

    001 £5000 / £16386.45 30.51% :j:j:j
New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

    * Snip

I get a decent wage which is more than enough to live frugally on and pay off debts at the same time so am in a way better position than so many people I read about on this forum so am massively grateful for that. Feel like I've had another wee lightbulb moment although I still have some way to go, it's a step in the right direction :j

Ok, sorry for rabbiting, get carried away chatting :shhh: Here is my update Jemma, many thanks :D

    Hi dd1981,

With any luck you'll have lots more wee lightbulb moments, and each and every one will get you one step closer to debtfreeness :T

Don't it might be an improvement on the washing up I see in our house some days! Oh ps on more hair brain money making idea's I was shocked to see Quality street tins in Schipol airport in Amsterdam. I'm talking about the big tins everyone buys at Christmas and then we feel guilty for overeating them!

Take a guess at how much they were retailing for?

    21 euro's and 45 cents!

New money making idea, thats £17.83!

Hang on, just flashed forward and had the customs conversation. Monthly trips to Amsterdam with Chocolates and coming back with nothing! Very very dodgy!

    camuk81,

If you ever want to get into the import/export business please include Canada. The largest tin of Quality Street we can get here is 750g which costs (at best - usually Walmart) $14.99 plus 12% tax, which equates to approx 10.49 pounds sterling.

And as for Roses, Celebrations or Cadbury's Minatures - pfft, they just don't exist.:(

A payment of 18.10 gbp paid today so that's,

    #65 1323.56 / 12471.68
  • I was feeling a bit down about not making any payments in the later half of this month but that total has just cheered me no end!! It reminded me that I have paid off a fair old chunk earlier on in Jan!

    Well done everyone!!!

    :( Trying hard...failing miserably :(
