Haven Holidays - Platinum Caravan Q&A :)

Evening all. Firstly I hope you all had a lovely xmas and will be enjoying a fab new year.

My questions yet again come back to Haven holidays... this time last year i was moaning about their prices jumping to over a £1000 at the end of jan well no mistaking this year I will be booking in the next 2 weeks but I wanted to ask if any of you have experienced their Platinum caravans? were going to Hopton (norfolk) and most of their Platinum range is the same and were going to get a 3 bed one as my lovely in-laws are coming too, do you know if the 3 bed has an en-suit? any info would be great. thank you xx

from experience 3 beds rarely have 2 baths (but may have a door leading into the only one from the main bedroom)Not stayed in a platinum on haven sites yet but FB & MSE friend owns one(not Norfolk) and maybe along in a bit to answer any questions.

we stayed in a three bed van in great yarmouth last summer. wasn't a platinum, though it had an ensuite toilet to the main bedroom. only a single shower in the van.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

O really can you remember what grade yours was we normally book deluxe or deluxe plus depending on price but this year we decided to share a caravan so there will be 5 adults (me hubby, in-laws and sister in law) and 2 children (under 5) so we could get the best caravan and split the cost cos as we all know the rise in UK holidays has meant them yet again increasing the price.
    thanks again guys x

It was IIRC the next upfrom standard. However i have found with the haven sites i have been to very hit and miss. the one in Great Yarmouth was as good as one i sayed in littlesea which was a "luxury" van.

We also have had a three bed van with an ensuite toilet and it was standard plus -we have a dog so can only have standard or standard plus. This van was at hafan y mor, we have been to many havens but this was the only time ever had two toilets!

Why not look for a privately owned van then you can pick one with two toilets or whsteve u need?

Thanks for your reply. I did actually look today at private ones lol with the 2 toilets and it was beautiful also on the site were going to and for the week we want it was £675 and the passes on top of that were £175-ish so making it £850 we might just as well book though haven for £803 as i get NHS discount we save 10% which is a bonus.
Thanks for all your input guys. we will also be looking into taking our dog with us another time in the year so will be trying out the standard/standard plus too :T x

No they dont. Ive rented haven platinum vans on different parks, but three bedroom vans do have 2 toilets. One is a separate WC and the other is in the bathroom.

For getting best price, its a waiting game unless you dont mind paying mad prices. Private renting dont include passes and linen and beds are not made up.

I go with booking on the website and look for a park manager having slow bookings on their park and list some vans at a discount, they will appear in their deals feature on their website which appears on the haven.com website near the end of spring onwards.

Get on their mailling list, that gives you first hand notice of deals they have just posted.

Do not book between November and March, prices are their highest.

Prices for the same holiday fluctuate daily if its a nice hot sunny day, Haven knows that gets people in the mood to book a holiday.

Haven have been pretty hit and miss for us, we have stayed in standard, standard plus and prestige, I think it was. We didn't really notice any difference, we booked the prestige because there was an offer on that made it the same price as a standard, we were fairly disappointed at the difference, which seemed to be a very small flat screen tv.

  • We stayed in a platinum caravan last year and it had two shower rooms - one en-suite.
We booked in January when there was a 30% discount and also went through quidco and got another £130 or so off
