Gift card query

I've gotta agree with above -- I would find it very disrespectful to find out somebody has effectively binned a gift card I spent my money on to give to them! If i'd known that, would have just gave them a bottle of wine or chocolates or something with less value.

It wasn't New Look was it? They had a sign in the store I was in today apologising that gift cards haven't been accepted recently and explaining it was down to a 'third party' error that had now been rectified. Not sure if it was a local problem or a nationwide one - or even if it was that store!!

Yes, it is New Look - there may be a happy outcome after all. She's working at the moment, and out tonight so no chance to test, but this may be a solution - thanks!

Oddly, saw a few stores around today having issues with receiving & selling giftcards (we wanted to return something but couldn't for this reason)

At first, I thought it was the stores were trying to stop people who'd been given giftcards spending money on sale items, instead having to come back another day and spend it on full price.

I suspect many of the stores out there use a centralised gift-card provider, and that they've had a more central issue these last few days then.

My friend had a problem with her new look gift card when trying to buy something online yesterday. She went into the store today and it worked fine
