Hi there,
My first post here. Would appreciate any ideas and suggestions. My question is simple. Where would you buy if you had £325k? I am aware that our budget wouldn't go that far in many places but would be interesting to see any ideas. The criteria are:
- 3/4 bed house
- lively and nice upmarket market town commutable to London
- not more than 1 hour commute time
- family friendly
- good schools
Thanks!

Shenfield, Brentwood (we live here - loving it so far), Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Stansted Mountfitchet, Hertford, Bishops Stortford (hugely popular cos of good schools), Ware, Chelmsford.
Not sure the budget would stretch to all you want in those towns, but there are bargains to be had.

You could buy plenty of nice houses in Skye for that budget, or would you like to narrow it down a little so people in the areas you are interested in can advise.0

Well, they did say an hour's commute time max to London... Might get a few speeding tickets from Skye to make it in under an hour!

Cambridge is an area I know and I think you budget may be a bit tight for a family sized 3/4 bed close enough to the station for a one hour commute.
You could get a small 3 bed Victorian terrace 15-20 mins walk and then a 45 minute train ride, then it would depend how far from Kings Cross you are.
It definitely is family friendly and has good schools but I think you would need to up the budget a bit!0
