Swimming Costume for the "larger Lady"

I bought a cossie through the zoggs sale link that was posted earlier in the thread. Just used it for the first time today and I'm pleased.
It was bought by dress size, rather than cup size which I usually prefer so it was a size 16 for a 36 inch back size. It held me ok, and my cup size is F/FF so I was impressed. Very comfy and a good length, too. It's called 'Albany' and is underwired with an X back and was less than £20, which I think is good value for a quality suit.
I've lost almost 4 stone since the summer (due to illness) and, consequently, have a very loose tummy so I'm hoping that swimming will help to tone it a bit. From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -

I'm so glad you were able to use the link I posted - they are good quality swimsuits.¿Alguien ha visto a mi nave espacial?
Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.0 -
Another place for reasonably priced swimsuits (hey, but you have bought yours!!) is Bon Marche- up to size 24. For some reason they now only appear to have one model with the tummy control panel (which is what I choose.) They also have swim dresses @ £19. They have a sale on at present and swimwear is included from £10 but only one style at this price.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I went into Bedford today to be nosy and look at getting a heart rate monitor in the sales. I walked into sports direct and they had a sale on their swimming costumes. Ooo I thought and had a look through. I could not see the ones on the top hook and went to ask the sales assistant if she could grab a hook so I can have a look at them (they were £30 now £7). She looked me up and down and said really rudly "sorry we dont sell to fat people"
OMG!! Now I am not a shy person (far from it) but I was stuck to the floor. No words came out of my mouth and she gave a smirk and walked off. I regained my composure and hot footed it out of there. There was a lot of people looking at me and I was so embarressed!
I am kicking myself now as I have a huge list of comebacks I wish I had said. Grrr ...
Anyway my search goes on ...
WHAT?!?!?!?! Sorry, Cookiee, I've just read your post. What that shop minion said to you is no different to someone saying "I'm sorry, we don't sell to white people"; "I'm sorry, we don't sell to people who use wheelchairs"; "I'm sorry, we don't sell to people over 65." Just plain cruel.
I mean, fair enough, the shop may well only stock items up to size 16 - 18... but there are ways and means of advising customers of this. I always thought, when I worked in a shop, that if the shop couldn't help a customer for any reason, the best thing was to apologise to/commiserate with the shopper and recommend an alternative. This is perfectly possible without being outright offensive.
For me - I know that, when my little niece and nephew are old enough to get into sports or outdoor activities, then I will buy their presents (as I have for my brother and sister-in-law) from a sporty store where the staff are helpful, polite, non-patronising, and generally pleasant - rather than a place where I've been made to feel like a lone fox who had inadvertently wandered into an international conference of worldwide chickens...
Did you try http://simplybe.co.uk?
I'm sure you'll find something gorgeous to show you off to your best in the pool. Keep smiling. xx0
