Flat Roof Re-Felting

9 months to formulate that reply.
So can you point us in the direction of this 30 year felt? It will see me out on my shed roof, which would be a win.0 -
As Geordie said EPDM, will last much longer than felt and easy to install. If you look up permaroof there is an installation video.0

The BBA (British Board of Agrement) is the accepted testing body within the entire construction industry. The durability statement for some of the bituminous felts is 30yrs+ (meaning it has a certified lifespan of 30yrs+). To my knowledge there is no EPDM that has a 30yr durability, not one.
The felt roof on our extension was original when we moved in, i had it replaced a few years back, it was then over 30 years old, that's good enough for me !!0 -
Saw this thread and it reminded me of a big sign i once saw at a builder supply yard.."Get Felt here"Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

You sure they weren't hosting the Radio 1 roadshow?Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

At the risk of being accused by idiots of selling, two manufacturers which have a 30 yr BBA are Bauder Total Roof System and IKO (cant remember which one of their felts have the 30yr BBA so check this). I work for a competitor of these (we also have 30yrs+ BBA) and our oldest felt roof is 37yrs old with no repairs on it.
By the way we sell pretty much all types of flat roof membrane, including single ply, so as far as systems go I am impartial. All of you idiotic people giving advice on EPDM etc really should stop, I could start up a company tomorrow selling welded Tesco carrier bags and give you a 40yr life expectancy; my guarantee would not be worth the paper it was written on but some people on here would not hesitate to recommend me.:rotfl:0 -

Their the ones- Mr T will replace it when it wears out!0 -
Firestone EPDM is excellent, tell why do most commercial companies go for it instead of felt, laid in one piece no joins or lapping required and I dont work for any roofing company so not trying to sell anything I just know what I use.0
