THIS week we have teamed up with Uppingham’s Goldmark Gallery to offer one lucky reader a limited edition lithograph by Kenneth Rowntree.
The Goldmark Gallery will be displaying its collection of lithographs from the famous School Prints series from January 7 to 21 and has agreed to offer a picture worth £250 to one of our readers.
The School Prints series was dreamed up in the 1930s by Brenda and Derek Rawnsley, who commissioned leading artists of the period to produce works to sell cheaply to impoverished schools.
The picture on offer is “The Tractor” by Kevin Rowntree, a colourful print of a farmer at work.
The piece is framed by Goldmark Framing using museum quality, acid-free mount and a flat oak frame worth £75.
To be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize, simply answer the question on the coupon, fill in your details and send it to Goldmark Gallery Competition, Rutland and Stamford Mercury, Sheep Market, Stamford, PE9 2QZ. Entries must arrive by Friday, January 6.
Entry to the School Prints exhibition is free and the gallery in Orange Street is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5.30pm and Sunday and bank holidays 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
