I want... Waste Oil (mechanical) Collection?

Not sure if this is the right forum, sorry if it isn't!

In our garden, behind the shed, there's an old metal dustbin full of what i assumed was just rainwater and weeds. Turns out on asking my boyfriend that it was left there by the previous occupant, and is actually half full of oil (and rainwater and weeds!) - the guy was a mechanic and for some reason left it there?? The question is.. how the hell do i get rid of it? I've looked through the council's website and they state that they dont collect oil containers or any liquids in drums for that matter.

    Hello lightisfading

I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board, where it should get more views and responses.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

If you can transport it I suspect your local tidy tip will take it.

Alternatively lots of garages have waste oil tanks and will let you tip it into theirs although they might not be that keen on a oil/water/twig mix as some use it to fuel the workshop heater
