Any thoughts?
personally? wouldn't touch it with a barge pole and would ask them to remove your telephone number and any other details from their database.
If you say "apparently I signed up to win an iPad" this means you don't remember apply for the competition/offer.... so it is one of those dodgy one.... £44 a month... you could pay off a lot of debt/bills/make savings with that.0 -

hello and welcome Ros. Have a good read of the first post and decide how you are going to try and make your extra £5 a day. I will be back later if you have any questions.
some of the ideas are sell your[STRIKE] junk[/STRIKE] goodies on ebay. Sign up for mystery shopping, sign up for survey companies, sell items on gumtree/netmums anywhere you aren't charged a fee. If you are crafty and can make things, sell them on etsy and folksy. if you can get overtime at work, ask for it, if you have a second job, take that money and use it for debts/bills/savings. check your banks and energy companies. are you getting the best deals? if not shop around and try to get cashback, this is extra money earnt. go through cashback sites when buying online.0 -

Have to agree with the AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE opinion. My 82 year old nan got conned out of several hundreds of pounds with one of these "companies" and I was furious about it but no action could be taken. It started off at £40 and she had a small win of £150 I think it was in the first month and was then persuaded to increase her chances of a mega win.....blah blah blah and bless her upped the amount to £100 :eek: and only told us about it after 8 months of no winning. Oh yes, they "look" all professional and legitimate but the old adage if it looks to good to be true............is best applied to these companies. Put the money in a savings account.
Grrrr........still makes my blood boil several years later.
Anyhow.........a big hello to those joining the challenge. Keep reading this thread and it is amazing how many tips and ideas you pick up. Keep re-reading things as I know I did not take it all in at once. Investigate the cash back sites (topcashback and quidco), ebay selling really really helps, car boot sales, transfer money "saved" from vouchers when shopping into a savings account, money "saved" taking in own lunch to work or walking to places, collect loose change in a pot and add the total weekly / monthly / yearly, cash in old gold or broken jewellery, persevere with voucher earning sites like swagbucks / maximiles / other survey sites - it took me a while to get my head round this as can only invest 5-10 minutes a day but even if I only get a £5 amazon voucher a month that is £60 in a year and will help massively. There are lots and lots more things that you can do but the stuff mentioned above is where I started. I have being doing it a couple of months and still have lots to learn / pick up on (amazon and facebook selling being my next challenge to conker).
Everyone does the challenge a little differently but I have a savings account and physically transfer the money made from the challenge into that account so I can see a total.
Am adding £3 today from money saved on bringing my own lunch to work. Got bids on 8 items on ebay ending over the weekend and early into next week so hopefully that will boost my weekend total. Off to do some SB stuff now. Have a good evening everyone.
