Hi there, i'm a newbie/lurker on MSE and just came across this challenge. Sound like a do-able one for me! And get to save a bit too! Can i start in February? £5 a day :D:D

Hi princess, we are not starting the Feb thread yet :) a tad early. But you are welcome to join in for the remainder of Jan if you want? Then when Feb thread is up you can carry on with that too.

Beccie, I haven't managed to sell anything on my FB page yet...lol, the only thing I sold on netmums the woman haggled me down, and I let her, and I shouldn't have, which has annoyed me.

But saying that I know some of the other members on my FB page have sold things to each other. It just depends on who is reading and what they are looking for. The larger the group the better.

Thanks Aesop. Will definitely have a look tonight. I must get over my ebay hatred and list there as well, but was thinking that FB and Gumtree would be better for things where the postage costs just wouldn't make it worth people's while bidding. And of course, I'd rather not pay the fees :D

  • Thanks for the Roadkill explanation - in that case I am up 5p in Roadkill today after moving the sofa to hoover! :)
  • Hi all,

I've not been on for a few days but a quick update:

Further £21 from eB*y sales on relisted items. All relisted when it was free insertion so just Payp*l fees taken off. Takes my total up to £384 :-D

I buget myself a set amount of money per week which I'm currently up on so when I get paid next week, everything left over from this month goes straight in to savings :-D It's all small amounts but as everyone says, it all helps!

I didn't realise what the Roadkill thing was but I do this already. OH and I recently counted up our 1p and 2p collection and it came to £17! I haven't added that though as that went in to his bank account. Also had £10 in 20p's and £10 in 50p's - also all went in to his account though!

I've got more shrapnel that I keep in tins - one for coppers and one for silver / £1 and £2 coins. I'll add them up again next month and see what I have.

Still nothing really coming of surveys - I can't remember who said it but it seems really slow, and I'm still always being screened out. Joined a couple of points sites - currently liking M*ximiles. I seem to be getting the most out of them. MyS*rveys and Tolun* coming along but slowly, slowly! I don't really understand yet how their points work or what I get for them, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Very excited about everything that I can look at getting rid of next month already!

Hello everyone, you're all doing so well!

I don't have anything to actually add yet but I have £113 pending from topcashback which I really hope comes through before the end of January. If not I need to re-think my plan. I do actually have loads of stuff to put on ebay but it's just bringing myself to actually list it. Must motivate self!

I'm also going to look at all the things I've seen mentioned on here... superpoints etc which I've never even heard of. Up until now I thought I was a pro... :) x
