Well the website clearly states no fee, and when I applied for one on sunday the operator stated no fee as well. I'm going to save a copy of their current web page just incase. Have you called Halifax (who run the Smart card) to clarify?0 -

No not yet - but i too have saved the webpage0 -
Been looking at some other sites and the only mention of 3% I can see if to do with the minimum monthly payments. I have printed a copy of the website, done a screengrab and also saved the webpage, so let them try and get out of it.
Are you going to call them in the morning to clear it all up?
As an aside from your phone application how long did it take for the paperwork to turn up?0 -

Transfered a couple of weeks ago with no fee.0

If it's anything like the N&P card (also run by Halifax), the key conditions are 4.2 & section 5 (specifically 5.1 to 5.4).
If you can't see the phrase "other than a special promotional rate when you opened your account" (or words to that effect), then you may have agreed to the fee when you signed the credit agreement.0 -
The original transfer period is fee free, while any transfers after that will attract the 3% fee.

Dan
Can I just confirm by 'original transfer period' we are referring to the first 6 months? Have my agreement now, but was going to wait a week before sending it back as my current card has until the end of Mar07 at 0% so want to try and maximise the benefit of the new (Smart) card. The 6 month transfer period is from account opening which as I understand it will normally only happen a couple of days after I send the agreement back0 -
Can someone just tell what is the Smart card exactly and who runs it ...web page etc ..thank you0
