Hi, Is there anyone out there who had a letter saying they were to recieve a one off payment direct to their Gas/Electricity provider from Warm Homes ? If so can you tell me what the amount was please. I cant find my letter to check and ive looked on my eon account and a strange amount of £114.29 had been added. I thought it was more than that and im sure it wasn t such an odd amount . I was looking as ive noticed my d/d has gone up from £43 per month to £105 per month  Thank you

  • I'd guess it's the warm homes payment minus VAT.

Could be wrong of course, this government would never do that, surely? ;)

If your electricity bill was for £120 (inc VAT), it would be for £114.29 (ex VAT). VAT is the last step of creating the invoice (you can't discount VAT so it needs to be added after DD discounts etc).
So applying a credit of £114.29 means that you pay £120 less in the end.
  • It appeared on my bill as a credit

    Other transactions.
114.29 CR Warm Homes Discount Payment f 14 December 2011
    5.71 CR VAT Adjustment f 14 December 2011

    which gives £120.

Yes thats it thank you. I phoned eon up and complained about my d/d rise from £43 to £105  and they are going to reduce it to £67 good job too, and i asked about the warmhome discount and it was indeed £120 less good old vat. Thought it was £150 lol wishful thinking i guess but this was an unexpected bonus so cant complain :)
