Essence-store.com counterfeit perfume help

I have been conned by the essence-store.com. I bought Paco Rabbane 100ml 'One Million' from them at the end of september for my husband for a xmas present.
It doesnt smell like it should, also when you spray it there is no power there. We took it to our local boots who confirmed it was 100% FAKE.
I paid using my credit card so thought i would be insured as it cost me £37 but they arent being very helpful at all. Nor were trading standards.
Does anyone know how i can go around getting my money back please and what are my rights?

The credit card company is only liable for purchases over £100, so they won't be particularly inclined to help you under section 75.
Your contract is with the retailer so they should deal with the issue. However, I'd question the legitimacy of the retailer. They have a London contact number on the site but, according to who.is, the domain is registered to an operation based in Coral Springs, Florida and the server is based in Bulgaria. It's not unheard of for domains to be registered abroad or for servers to be placed abroad, but it doesn't add up to me. The other give-away for me is that they don't appear to display a trading address on their website - which is illegal in the UK.
Personally (and this is just my view), after dealing with a site that appears to be selling counterfeit goods, has a domain registered in one country, a server located in another, a London contact number and no address displayed on site, I'd be keeping an eye on future bank statements.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The same has happened to me. Purchased Amor Amor in November as part of an Xmas gift, and my wife said it was fake when she opened it. I don't see what can be done except to learn the lesson of not buying off the internet, and use reputable retailers. My view grows stronger each day to support our high street, and make these low life scum suffer. Spread the word.0
