Tv and freeview recorder

In the lounge we have sky with a dish. On 2 other tvs we have magic eye which gives same channel tv as sky, but we can also watch via freeview. Is it possible to get a freesat digitital recoder and have another cable running from sky dish so I can watch freesat channels on bedroom TV and record them? Would appreciate any advice. Can't have sky multiroom as I have been told you have to have phone line plugged in which we don't have for our lounge. We found when we did have it plugged into phone line our broadband (TalkTalk) ran really really slow. Also don't want to pay extra £10 per month as I only watch non sky programs (husband likes sky for the sport!!)

I 'think' you may have to change the LNB on your dish (depending on your current set up) but is is possible. If you already have Freeview in the bedroom, and presumably an aerial feed, a freeview recorder is cheaper than a freesat recorder I think?0

My GPs used their redundant sky dish with a FreeSat box up in their bedroom as the TV ariel signal is blocked by trees. Not sure what was done to the dish as they got a contractor in to do the job but paid around £150 all in.0
