I have this printer sitting under my desk atm, it's not a bad printer at all. Think I paid about £30-40 for it at the time, but they've all come down since then. The compatible cartridges are fine for it although can sometimes not read them, it's all about removing all of them and refitting them after the memory has been cleared or something like that. It does come with some ink, half filled cartridges to get you started

I bought this printer today. I'm not sure about how they came to the original price as everywhere else are also selling it at £24.99.

Stores tend to match each other's prices. Next month they will all be selling it for £70 again.

    I am tempted by this

I have an epson all in one wireless printer which I got at a great price on amazon <£50, but I have clogged the black up. Ive got printer cleaning fluid here but it wont budge it. The price of repair is probably more than the printer is worth, and I have been told it has been through using non epson inks? I wonder if this has happened to anyone else, and if so how did they solve it?

If I could work out how to remove the print head, then I would imagine Id be able to soak it for as required and let it dry and start again etc

I was paying about £1 per cartridge and had my fair money worth of printable vouchers but this has happened on only the black?

Could do what i did last time i had a problem with my Epson , rang Epson UK and asked for advice on clearing a ink jet , nice guy told me it aint really worth doing as it would re-occur very soon , then he said if i wanted a re-furb , same model , i could have one for £10 + the price of postage which was £7.50 !
Was a bit dubious but went ahead with it anyway !
Still using it 3 years later :T:T:T
Give em a call , you never know , they might be able to do something similar for you !
I get my inks from www.inkemporium.co.uk they do Branded and Generics which i use with no problems for Photo printing :)

With a tricolour ink cart so as soon as one colour runs out you have to change it at about £13

As oppose to this where the carts can be had for peanuts and they are individual for each colour
  • We bought one of these SX130 from Argos, it seems fine but have only used it twice so far. Some will consider it a little slow and noisy, but it's ok for what we need. Took ages to set up due to slow download process.

We now need to get some ink for it and would prefer compatibles due to cost. Saw Color-Day-Color company on ebay has anyone used them before? Reviews seem generally ok, but a few negatives over 6-12 mths ago. 12 x 18ml cartridges for £15.69 or is this too cheap for them to be any good?

    Thanks in advance

  • Thank you so much, OP, for this. I bought it this week, and my 11 year old grand-daughter kindly set it up for me, in about 15 minutes. It takes a little time to think about what it's got to do, before it prints, but so do I, so I'm more than happy. :)

And as I'm an avid follower of the coupon thread, it'll pay for itself in no time at all!

    xx
