internat phone display?

Hi I keep getting calls to my house and my phone diplays INTERNAT when this calls I think that means an international call but when I answer no one is on the line this has happened three times already today and four times yesterday does anyone know what it's all about

Call centres in india calling more than one number at once and the person that picks up first has special attention maybe?

Hi thanks for your help but now wondering who from india would call me and still why don't they speak? thought it was like that old scam where you lift the phone up and they start charging you for it claiming you have won something but this time not claiming you have won anything, just silent this time oh my head sore I'll have to get to the bottom of this:eek:

Hi they just called again there silent as usuall doing my head in now I'm in the NTL queue waiting to speak to someone thanks your probably right marketing stuff but I had telephone preference service put on (TPS) which means it's illeagal for market people to phone my number I think I will wait till tomorrow and phone tps and find out from them I'm going to hang up NTL cause they probably can't help. thanks again.

TPS doesn't cover international calls, it's a pain in the @rse.

I've had a lot of international marketing calls asking for someone with a name different to mine, same one each time but calls from different companies. Trying to find out from them where they got the name and number but not getting any answers.

AFAIK you can never be charged for answering your phone, its an urban legend.
