    Thanks jimjames and atush :)

Well I've rung FD re the Cash ISA so that's in hand.

The prices of the Invesco fund mentioned earlier seem quite a lot higher than the Lifestrategy funds, if I'm reading the websites right (always a risky assumption!). Lifestrategy seems to have TER of about 0.33% (and, I think, no extra charge on Charles Stanley Direct), whereas Invesco looks like 1.50% + 0.19% on HL, or 0.94% TER on CSD.

Also, Invesco seems to have quite a heavy UK weighting and is much closer to 100% equities?

In your previous experience, does the extra cost for the Invesco type fund often produce greater rewards and a higher net income - or is there really not that much in it?

The only other factor to resolve in my mind is whether to split some of my spare cash into mortgage overpayments or all into the S&S ISA.

Edit: I've no idea about the AVC position, nor what TFLS is, but will have a look ... !

Re-edit: According to the scheme booklet for my CS Classic pension, "Civil Service Additional Voluntary Contributions (CSAVC) [FONT=Agenda,Agenda][FONT=Agenda,Agenda]Scheme is a money purchase arrangement for Civil Service pension scheme members to provide an additional pension, where contributions are paid to one of a panel of approved pension providers for investment in a fund or selection of funds. The Invesco Perpetual is a bit more expensive, sometimes it is worth to pay for good manager. I have great believe in Neil Woodford.
Yes, it is heavily uk fund.
It is only one of several funds I hold. I don't put all my eggs in one fund. That is the beauty about funds-you can hold as many as you want and go any direction you want (uk,us,japan,mixed,properties...)
