It's rechargeable batteries you plug into the USB port on your compter to charge! Take a look USB rechargeable batteries
Martin
Thanks Martin, they are more economic over their lifetime as can be recharged hundreds of times, and also better for the environment as save landfill waste (an estimated 15billion batteries are thrown away each year). We've set up a special volume limited Valentines week discount code of VALENTINE to give your readers 15% off : USB rechargeable batteries :j0 -

Here is a link to real life testing of the discharge rates.
i.e. Yes they do work. But the capacities are slightly lower about 2100mAh compared with 2500+mAh.
If you want something similar then on ebay there is a brand of battery called vapextech, "instant" or "new technology". I've bought 8 and so far so good. I trust the brand as I have many of the other high capacity versions and they independantly test out OK.
Cheers

seems pretty cheap aswell
Any idea as to when the higher capacity ones are expected to be released?0 -
While we are talking about battery gadgets, you can buy special cases for AA batteries which in effect make them C or D sized batteries. They are cheap, and mean that you will only need to bother with AA and AAA batteries and the weird 9v things, though they will not last as long when used in this fashion. Best use NIMH batteries.0

Nice idea but I don't think they are that practical... the blurb on their site makes the point of charging on the move .but because of their diameter I think they can only be charged if the usb ports are side by side and not double decked (my laptop is the latter ) + 5 hours for a 90% charge most laptops would be dead long before then..sorry to be so negative but thats the way I see it.

Seen them before, but still cool nonetheless.
Their "coming soon" products look promising - especially the phone batteries.
Thanks to USBCELL for the discount!-- £2 coin savers club = £90 (£84 banked) --0 -
The battery converters mentioned eralier are fantastic. My kids use C size batteries in loads of toys and AA's in almost everything else. by using these battery converters http://www.batterylogic.co.uk/battery-converters.asp greatlty simplifies everything. With a not very expensive fast battery charger http://www.batterylogic.co.uk/uniross-battery-chargers.asp
I've now got everything covered.
I'd also recommend the Hybrio batteries mentioned earlier in this post

the best thing I've bought for the house in ages. Excellent performance so far and saving a fortune already!0 -

My wife has a usb light which can be bent into any shape to shine on the keyboard, which she got from Tiger and cost £2.00.Not sure if they available thought but worth a look.Alternatively ibm laptops (from the T20 onwards) have a light built into the top edge of the screen.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0

i got some of these for free - they are verry cool, and work really well with an xbox 360.. just stick them in the front of the console and when they are charged just stick them in your controller0

it will be a relief to have batteries that don't lose their charge from one photo to the next! Slight exageration
I've ordered some Hybrio ones from here: http://www.battery-force.co.uk/searchresults.html via Quidco to get 5% back. (not much different between their prices and the eBay ones though). Shipping is very cheap and I have also ordered a superfast charger woohoo.
Should you be looking for a charger from these people make sure you scroll down the long list as there are lots of mega-expensive ones in among the cheap ones!Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0
