I'm relisting/listing things on eBay, am seeing if it makes any difference on whether things sell to offer free postage all inclusive vs price for item and postage separate.

I did that on a few items. It worked for me but I did make sure the cost of the postage was covered in the listing price - things still went for a lot more though - madness

A slow day today, I am charriot bound, my legs and balance have gone off on holiday. BUT, I'm not giving up on the clutter clearing. There have been 3 cake tins sat on the worktop full of carp since DH had is pre christmas 'chuck it all out of sight' session which I have sat and emptied, so todays effort so far is 2 carrier bags of rubbish, 1 carrier bag for recycling AND 2x china dolls, a bead keyringfor the CS. Not only that but 3 tins back in use full of baking from the other day! :T

Well all this morning upstairs dismantling overbred wardrobe fitment, and thanks to stepdad, not a screw is left remaining, he's taken the whole lot in his van, bound for his woodpile for his stove. I helped by removing all the hinges and handles, etc, all of which he has also kept, being a builder by trade, he is keeping these 'they might come in handy' lol. I might direct him to this thread, there were at least 100 screws lol.

So. I shall be modest and count it as 6 cupboards and not all the individual panels of wood so, 76 total for me.

That is "all" I have done today...

    Hi everyone :)

I haven't posted on this thread for ages, but have been catching up on how well everyone has been doing. I have definitely gone off the boil!

Over the past few days I have watched a couple of 'hoarder type' programmes, and it has spurred me on again. Poor people, I really felt for them.

So, I'm back on the wagon and tackling things again.

Clothes. Too many clothes. Waaayyyy too many clothes. I never seem to get rid of anything, whether it still fits or not. :o

I now have piles :D. Piles of different types of clothing and I am culling them big style.

Just got to make sure they leave the house one way or another.
  • more stuff to charity shop - 10 glasses, bunch of wooden flowers, 2 sachets of moisturiser gone, 1 toothpaste tube binned. Up to 251/300. Also boxed up various bits and pieces for storage at parents for when we put house on market.

After another migraine this morning :( and the food shop, managed to get a couple of hours in the office with OH. Previously nicknamed the room of doom! Don't know what happened, but we both turned RUTHLESS! Everything came off every shelf, and the room was given a deep clean - it had only been lightly done since we had a new window fitted last year. Our books were our main targets as we couldn't fit them all onto our shelves, so were basically inaccessible.

I have some before pics - when its all finished I will post along with some after pics (probably a couple of weekends away now as OH is away from tomorrow morning and I can't do too much lifting and shifting in my condition). At the moment it does look like a bomb has hit it !

Lots has already gone so can't count it but here's a go...

41-3 3 bin liners worth of recycling. A few hundred old business cards, empty cd cases, leaflets... should be worth more than a count of 3!
44-104 about 60 museum journals to charity. I have counted these individually as it meant a lot to me to get rid of them. But I have kept 2 years worth only, the preceeding 5 years have gone.
105 silver candlestick holder I've not used in years - charity
106-110 unused recordable dvds and cds to charity (we have loads already and these are cased and wrapped).
    111-118 books - charity
119 - 123 - 5 boxes of unused christmas cards - we get different designs each year and have NEVER revisited old ones.
124 - some digital speaker thing we've never used and not likely to - charity
    125 - a 'spare' printer - charity

There are around 70-80 books I need to check if they are worth anything on ama$on. A few things to ebay too. Not sure whether to spend tomorrow ebaying, or finishing the office. And the dreaded filing awaits :eek:...

...but overall I am sooo happy about how much we have got rid of, I already feel lighter and excited about using the room again :j:j.

Have done absolutely no de-cluttering since Thursday. Yesterday was my birthday so I figured I deserved a day off and today I spent the day shopping and spent some birthday money on a new pair of trousers.
On a side note, apparently the new bed is very comfortable :)

Am planning on doing my wardrobe tomorrow though to make up for it.
