what do you think
Hi
I have just got my gas and electricity bill through. We (2 adults and a 6 year old) live in a 3 bed 1930's terrace with double glazing, only 2cm loft insulation and no cavity wall. These are to be seen to by edf in February. My partner is out at work all day and I have had a temp job (so out after mid day) up to 11th dec. Since then I have been at home most of the time.
We have spent £193 on gas and electricity combined between 2nd Nov and 29th Dec (today). This is about £150 on gas, so £75 a month for the last 2 months.
Would you be happy with this with the details above or not?

Doesn't sound unreasonable. We lived in a similar house last year for 12 months and paid average of £90/month combined gas and electric, but obviously our usage was much higher November through March.0

BlueC, thanks for that. Although I know that edf have got the cost right I wasnt sure if £193 was something I should be pleased (well ish) with or alarmed at the cost. Needed another opinion. We are on the fixed saver version 2 ending Sep 2012.0

£200 for 2 months gas and electric in the darker colder months isn't too bad. It would even itself up to around £80 per month over the year which is what I would expect for a house of your size/style without going mad on the heating!
Clearly most of your usage is gas so if you want to bring the bill down then try and ease off the heating a bit.0 -
I'm hoping that after edf have put in loft insulation and cavity wall it should make it alot better too. We only have 2cm of loft insulation in at moment0
