    @shelley_crow:

    Firstly, let's understand that Debt Collectors are little more than members of the public, with the only the power to simply ask for the money. On response of 'no' they must go 'oh, OK then' and wander off. You and I have similar powers, i.e. not much.

    They are NOT to be confused with bailiffs who can turn up with a warrant and can grab your telly (if you let them in) and stuff. In the case of a PPC letter chain, bailiffs will NOT become involved.

    For that reason, highly unlikely, probably zero chance that a debt collector will call in person. They might phone, but you can simply tell them to sling their hook.

    And just so its properly understood, shelley_crow, a bailiff can only turn up with a warrant IF and ONLY IF it has gone to court (chances less than winning Lotto Jackpot) you lost (chances less than winning £30m on Euromillions) AND you don't pay up (overall chance = extremely tiny).

    As Manx says, debt collection agencies are totally powerless. They threaten this, and threaten that, but actually do diddly squat.

    Worry ye not.
